The thirteenth edition of the International Conference on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Architecture and Urban Planning (EESAP 13) deals with the theme of addressing opportunity. In line with the European Union’s recovery plan, the focus is on fostering the improvement of people’s quality of life with models that are greener, more digital, resilient and better adapted to current and future challenges.
The twelfth edition of the European Conference on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Architecture and Urbanism (EESAP 12) and the fifth International Conference on Advanced Construction (CICA 5), addressed the theme of the renovation wave. In line with the European Commission’s strategy, the focus was on fostering the improvement of the quality of life of people living in buildings, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and on promoting digitalisation by improving the reuse and recycling of materials.
The eleventh edition of the European Conference on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Architecture and Urbanism (EESAP 11) and the fourth International Conference on Advanced Construction (CICA 4), addressed the theme of disruption, where topics such as the Digitalization if the sector, 4.0 Technologies, the application of these technologies, Energy Efficiency at urban and building scale, including new pre- and post- COVID-19 scenarios, were discussed.

The tenth edition of the European Conference on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Architecture and Urbanism (EESAP 10) and the third International Conference on Advanced Construction (CICA 3) addressed the issue of Transition, where topics such as the Digitalization of the sector were discussed, as well as Technology 4.0, Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Cities and Infrastructure.
The 9th edition of the European Conference on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Architecture and Urbanism (EESAP 9) and the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Construction (CICA 2) approached the issue of Smart Communities, which is based on the need to incorporate human scale and its nearby area as an essential variable for cities intelligent management, as a consequence of current society’s aim to achieve higher levels of life quality.
The last 8th edition of the European Conference on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Architecture and Urbanism (EESAP8), with an academic approach, and the 1st International Conference on Advanced Construction (CICA1), aimed at the business sector, dealt with the topic of Sustainable Intelligence regarding the perspective of the intelligent management of cities, the industrialised building systems and the market opportunities it may generate.
